SAS Rock and Blues

Sharon and Shelly are the foundation for SAS, adding additional players depending on size of party. Their music is classic; easy listening rock and cool r&b classics with originals scattered throughout. They play nostalgic music of the 60’s & 70’s. Sharon Rae (vocals and percussion) and Shelly Davis (keyboards) perform as a duo or band. SAS has performed together for over 25 years for private parties, clubs and concerts.

Sharon is a blues and soul singer, songwriter, recording artist and percussionist.  Her background is in jazz, blues, roots, r&b and rock n’ roll. She has been performing professionally since she was 15, starting her musical career while living in Central Florida. From Miami up to Atlanta and down to New Orleans, Sharon has worked hundreds of top nightclubs, hotels, conventions, theme parks, concerts, weddings and other special events with contemporary, rock, blues, soul, country, big band and dance/show bands.

Shelly Davis is a passionate jazz piano player who grew up in New York. Urban and country blues, 50’s roots-rock and 60’s r&b rounded out his jazz background and in 1968 he joined Johnny Maestro (16 Candles et al.) and the Del Satins (Runaround Sue et al. with Dion) to form the Brooklyn Bridge (Worst That Could Happen). Later, Shelly played for several years in Nashville, Aspen, Boulder and Kansas City with his jazz, blues and original groups and has done shows with Mose Alison, Roy Orbison, Chuck Berry, Fats Domino and Bonnie Raitt. In 2006, Shelly was inducted into the Long Island Music Hall of Fame.
